About two months ago I received two copies of Blake Mycoskie of TOMS Shoes book, 'Start Something That Matters.' I was told to read one, and give one away, in hopes of getting inspired as well as help inspire someone else to start something that matters.
As a TOMS customer, I knew the basics of how the shoes works, but hearing the actual story of how the movement got started from the founder, makes me even more passionate about them. The book talks about not only Blake's journey to starting TOMS but other entrepreneurs and philanthropist, who had a small idea and turned it into something big, just by getting their idea out there. 'Start Something That Matters' encourages readers not to change the world over night, or create a highly profitable business in a day, but to strive to do something to help others in a way you're extremely passionate about. This book has inspired me to make a difference, I'm not sure how yet, which is okay, but I'm definitely going to do my part, because, every single person has the power to make the world a better place.
Not only is this book an inspiring, easy read, it too has the power to help others following the TOMS One for One mission; by purchasing this book you also provide a book to a child in need, to help them become inspired.
