Day 178.

I've worn this sweater many times before, including Day 145 and I really wanted to show off what the back looks like, because that is definitely my favorite aspect of the top. From the front it may seem like just a regular navy sweater, but with the widened neck, and the zipper going half way down the back, it looks a little more trendy!

Day 178.
Heritage 1981 Sweater $11, Forever 21 Shorts $12, Forever 21 Binocular Pendant $3.80; Paired the look with silver sandals!

Day 177.

Oh the joy of a good hat, I slept in really really late this morning, ironically on a day when I was trying to wake up earlier than usual, and barely had a second to get ready. I hadn't showered the night before, so I obviously had to, but there was no time for washing and styling my hair. This is where the hat comes into play, I love hats as it is, but they can definitely be a lifesaver in a bind. Since I was wearing a brighter colored had, the rest of my outfit could be slightly underplayed and simple; blazer, v-neck, which I tucked for a crisper look, skinnies and a good pair of flats, add a cute necklace, voila! Ready to go in 5 minutes!

Day 177.
Express Knit Blazer $35, Old Navy V-Neck Tee $8, American Eagle Skinny Jean $20, Old Navy Flats $9, 1773 Fedora $7, Forever 21 Heart Pendant $6

Day 176.

Fall is just around the corner, but in Southern California, it seems like we're just getting our peak of summer now, and it is HOT. There is nothing easier and more comfortable than a light weight romper to beat the heat. Loose fitting, so you don't have clothes sticking to your body, cool material, and most of all super cute! Make it your own by adding stylish sandals and accessories, and a great belt always helps break up the top and bottom!

Day 176.
yettf Printed Romper $41; Had a gift card so I paid $18, Forever 21 Braided Belt $4.80, Charlotte Russe Gladiator Sandals $13, Express Handbag $18

Day 175.

Class on Saturday morning, then an entire day devoted to study I didn't want to wear much more than a t-shirt and comfortable shorts. The necklace was an obvious addition, just giving the outfit something more to focus on, drawing away from the fact that I wasn't wearing anything super fancy. I knew it would be air conditioned indoors and that I would want something over top my tee anyways, so why not look a little more put together with a cardigan, instead of opting out with a hoodie. They're both serving the same purpose, and they're both comfortable, obvious decision.

Day 175.
Victoria's Secret V-Neck $8.99, Forever 21 Denim Shorts $12, Forever 21 Owl Pendant $3.80, Old Navy Cardigan $0; Borrowed from sister

Day 174.

Hair and make up are some of the biggest aspects of making a look come together. I'll be the first to admit I'm terrible with both, I know nothing about what make up works with what person, or outfit or whatever, and I can't style my hair to save my life. More times then not I visualize how I would want my outfit to look if a model was wearing it walking down the runway, I'm no model and am definitely not hitting the runway anytime soon, but I usually try to recreate that image. Since my shirt was so busy, and I had all the layering necklaces, I knew I wanted my hair up off my face, as to not have anymore confusion going on.

Day 174.
Kimichi Blue Tank $20, Bullhead Skinny Jeans $30, PacSun Necklace $9, WetSeal Necklace $6, Steve Madden Gladiator Sandals $30

Day 173.

This is just a casual summer time outfit, but it's very neutral, so with fall coming up, I'll keep it in mind, and keep it in season, by just adding a pair of boots and maybe a hat. Don't be discouraged when you see all the fall fashion coming out, you don't necessarily have to purchase an entirely new wardrobe. Make the best of what you already have, by simply making it slightly more weather friendly. You can even still wear some of your favorite summer tanks, maybe just buy one great neutral cardigan to keep you cozy the next few months.

Day 173.
Forever 21 Striped Sweater $8.99, Sound & Matter Cargo Pants $15, Express Handbag $18, Rainbow Flip Flops $10

Day 172.

So we've already decided that now is the time to go shopping, but don't be afraid to peruse through other departments to find a great deal! You may be surprised! I got this mens short sleeve oxford for five dollars on a clearance rack in Target, and it's perfect, because its just a basic blue, which I can wear all the time! Checking out the men's department, or even boys if it's similar to your size, and maybe even kids shoes, if you have small feet!

Day 172.
Merona Oxford $5, American Eagle Skinny Jean $20, Forever 21 Belt $4.80, Ciao Bella Flats $30

Day 171.

I really love this look I'm not going to lie, I just feel like everything came together very well, even from the simple things, like matching my underlying orange tank with my new sandals. Sometimes subtle things like that, can be what makes a look unique.

Day 171.
Express Embroidered Tank $16, Mossimo Orange Tank $9, Kirra Maxi Skirt $14, PacSun Bead Necklace $9, Express Denim Jacket $25, Candies Gladiator Sandal $10

Day 170.

The outfit is your basic loose fitting tee and denim shorts, what I really want to focus on is these super cute new shoes. Originally fifty dollar Candies gladiator sandals, I got them for an awesome $10, that is an absolute steal. To find bargains like that, now is definitely the time to be shopping, all summer apparel is being marked way down, to make room for all the back to school stuff. I'd say now's the time to update your wardrobe!

Day 170.
Charlotte Russe Tee $7, Forever 21 Denim Shorts $12, Forever 21 Owl Pendant $4.80, Candies Gladiator Sandals $10

Day 169.

Found a new chair for my future living room, lucky for me it matched my outfit. Simple v-neck, shorts and TOMS. I always want to wear my denim jacket with shorts, because it's very summery, but I just can't pull off denim on denim, hence the white shorts.

Day 169.
Aerie V-Neck $6, Express Denim Jacket $25, Unionbay Shorts $20, TOMS Shoes $20, Forever 21 Binocular Necklace $3.80

Day 168.

I saw a picture of Rosie Huntington-Whitely wearing little mary jane shoes with baggy boyfriend jeans, and I just had to try it out, because it looked so cute. Since I was wearing a fitted long sleeve tee with the jeans, the scarf helped to even out the proportions of my body, not making the pants look too baggy compared to my upper half.

Day 168.
Express Sheer Long Sleeve $12, Express Boyfriend Jeans $12, H&M Patterned Scarf $4, Urban Outfitters Canvas Mary Janes two pairs $14, No Boundaries Fedora $9, Espirit Sunglasses $8
I'm no Rosie, but I'd love to mimic some more of her great style!

Day 167.

Ballet flats and a sweater, simple, comfortable, classic. A look that will never go out of style.

Day 167.
Forever 21 Sweater $15, BKE Cami $9, Bullhead Skinny Jeans $30, Ciao Bella Flats $30

Day 166.

On a warm day wearing an oversized button down is the perfect replacement for a cardigan. This is the perfect opportunity to raid your boyfriend's, your brother's or any guys in your life's closet and borrow a shirt. Luckily for me I had this shirt I bought two sizes bigger than normal, that matched perfectly!

Day 166.
American Eagle Button Down $12, Frenchi Watercolor Dress $14, Purple Socks Pack of five $6, Express Skinny Belt $10, Old Navy Flats $9

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Day 165.

I'm not a huge graphic tee wearer, but sometimes I just really want to bust one out. One way to make a graphic tee more work appropriate is to wear it with a sweater or a jacket. Adding a cardigan or blazer can keep your look casual, but make it look more put together.

Day 165.
Express Leopard Cardigan $11.99, Old Navy Run DMC Tee $10, American Eagle Skinny Jean $20, N.Y.L.A. Wedges $30, Forever 21 Owl Pendant $4.80

Day 164.

Wearing a blazer takes any outfit to the next level, they're such clean cut jackets, the make any look, look polished. You don't even need to invest in a crazy fancy suit jacket, you can find simple, cute blazers almost anywhere, such as Forever 21 or Target. My blazer is even knit and casual, but it still makes my outfit look more dressy.

Day 164.
Express Boyfriend Blazer $35, Express Sequin Tank $15, American Eagle Skinny Jean $20, Forever 21 Binocular Pendant $3.80, Old Navy Flats $9

Day 163.

San Clemente had a big street fair called Fiesta, so I tried to dress for the occasion when my sister and I went to check it out. This maxi skirt is actually a halter dress from Day 34. and I just threw a basic v-neck over it and a pendant necklace. So simple, but the pattern and bright colors make it fun! Using dresses to double as a skirt, is one of the easiest ways to save a few dollars, I'm a frequenter of this method! Long or short, just throw a t-shirt or a sweater, or even a tank over top, and you already have a couple more outfits, from pieces you already have in your closet!

Day 163.
Express Maxi Dress $35, Victoria's Secret V-Neck $8.99, Forever 21 Owl Pendant $4.80, Old Navy Tan Cardigan $0; Borrowed from my sister

Day 162.

I think converse, or any slim tennis shoe for that matter, are the best looking shoes with boyfriend jeans. Since boyfriend jeans are so baggy, it looks cute when you were such a small shoe with it, and cuff the jeans slightly so a little bit of ankle is showing, that way your look stays girly.

Day 162.
Old Navy V-Neck Tee $8, Express Boyfriend Jeans $12, Navy Converse All Stars $35, Charlotte Russe Scarf $8

Day 161.

I'm not really sure what to say, I just woke up this morning and this outfit is just what I was feeling. The pants and boots were a definite, maybe it was some subconscious inspiration from looking at all the Europeans in 'The Sartorialist' book, they just take so many risks, and with such an ease, it's so natural for them to wear something daring; they always look good. I threw on the leather jacket, because I wanted some edge.

Day 161.
Neon Orange Tee $11, H&M Harem Pants $15, Forever 21 Leather Jacket $0;Gift, MIA Combat Boots $35, Jewelmint Encore Necklace $8.99
