Day 230.

I can not even believe it's the last day of October, this month was such a whirlwind; it went by way too fast! I feel accomplished to finally be posting on the actual day I wore the clothes, it feels good to be caught up! Saturday I was looking at old blog posts, and not only got the desire to wear this maxi dress, but I also had to renumber every entry from day 31. up, because there were two!! Yikes! It honestly took two hours! But on the bright side this outfit was created! This sweater worked perfectly over this dress, and I really like the navy with the jersey gray, a couple pendant necklaces worked with the relaxed look, but I spiced it up with the leopard print flats! I like adding the bold leopard prints with basic pieces, and random colors! Happy Halloween :D

Day 230.
H&M Sweater $10, Heritage 1981 Maxi Dress $11, Forever 21 Binocular Pendant $3.80, Marc by Marc Jacobs Wishbone $0; Gift, Black Poppy Flats $6.50

This whole outfit only totals $31.30!! That is a steal!!

Day 229.

As October comes to an end so does Breast Cancer Awareness month, but people should still be aware that the disease is out there. I'm not telling you what causes to support or anything, but you should definitely do your part to help others in any ways possible, whatever the cause. People feel a strong connection to fighting breast cancer, because it has affected so many people, on so many levels, and for most it seems to hit very close to home.
I spent my day showing support on the couch sketching for a homework assignment!

Pricing for these clothes aren't important, but if you're looking to support Breast Cancer and look super trendy check out this t-shirt designed by actress Jennifer Aniston here Also, 100% of net proceeds go straight to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Check it out its way cute!!

Day 228.

I'm just going to start off by saying that I love this look! The rich colors of the sweater, with my chocolate boots go so well together, and the ripped denim helps give off a sort of bohemian vibe! Still feeling under the weather I couldn't have been more thrilled to have the opportunity to bust out my new sweater, that I bought at a sample sale for only fifteen dollars! Having a cold doesn't mean you can't walk in heels! So even though I was only going to sewing class, I had to wear the boots, because they helped make the outfit!

Day 228.
Renee C. Cardigan $15, Old Navy Peasant Top $13, Jewelmint Necklace $8.99, Express Ripped Skinnies $40, Barefoot Boots $40

Day 227.

Friday one of my fashion classes took a field trip to LA's fashion district. The weather was beautiful up there, so I new I really wanted to wear a colorful maxi dress, but I added the scarf and denim jacket to make it slightly more fall appropriate! I'm so glad this is what I chose, because sitting in traffic for three hours on the way home couldn't have been more comfortable! We spent a lot of time exploring the California Mart and the New mart, I was slightly hard broken, because it was sample sale day, but the Betsey Johnson showroom wasn't opened!!

Day 227.
Express Maxi Dress $35, Express Denim Jacket $25, Express Infinity Scarf $0; Gift, Steve Madden Sandals $30

Day 226.

Well what do you know, I stray from chunky, warm sweaters for two days, and from all the climate changes, I got a cold! Trying to stay warm, and get it to pass, I bundled up in some of fall staple pieces. When my sister picked me up for lunch this day, she said wow you're wearing that again!? That's when I realized I need to cool it on the sweater and scarf, so I'm going to try and retire them; at least for a week!!

Day 226.
Banana Republic Sweater $35, Forever 21 Scarf $6.80, American Eagle Skinnies $20, Barefoot Boots $40

Day 225.

Went for a more sophisticated look last Wednesday, but still kept it true to my style. The pants have a slightly olive tint, and the shirt is actually navy and white, adding a little color. But the black from the jacket and the heels tie it altogether, and of course the layered necklace keeps it youthful.

Day 225.
Banana Republic Nautical Tee $24, Express Blazer $35, Banana Republic Slacks $18, Calvin Klein Pumps $70, Pacsun Necklace $9

Day 224.

Getting out of my layering rut, I really wanted to wear a dress Tuesday, but couldn't decide on one. Instead I just converted one into a skirt with one of my favorite sweaters and called it a day! For fall I really like flirty florals, paired with boots, it still gives off a fun, girly vibe, but you're still prepared for the cool air!

Day 224.
Heritage 1981 Sweater $11, Express Floral Dress $30, Owl Pendant $4.80, Xappeal Boots $24

Day 223.

Back to the grind last Monday after a weekend away, and I must have still been stuck in the fall mindset, because this sweater was just calling my name! It seemed like it would be so cozy on a cooler day, and boy was it!

Day 223.
Express Knit Poncho $12, Express Bootcut Jeans $35, Pacsun Necklace $9, nicole Boots $12

Day 222.

Don't judge how I look too much!! We had to get up at 4:45am on Sunday to head back to California, so I was tired! This is my first post wearing my glasses, which I kept on because I thought it would be easier to fall asleep on the plane; that didn't happen! Anyways, what I chose to wear on the flight home was based on packing sensibility. My suitcase was jam packed from buying some goodies, so I had to wear some of my bulkier things, like these heeled boots, and the knit blazer! I chose to wear the scarf, just to be cozy on the plane and I had to wear the fedora, because it would have gotten smashed in my luggage! Embarrassing story; I put all my dirty laundry from the trip in the front pocket of my suitcase, which in turn made my suitcase much bulkier. Andrew was trying to put it in the overhead bin, and the flight attendant told me I had to take some stuff out! Well, she gave me a clear plastic bag, which I had to put all my dirty clothes in and carry through the airport!

View from the courtyard of a French cafe we had lunch at one day, it was like we were in our own little world, completely enclosed by apartment buildings, with lots of trees and ivy!
Day 222.
Express Blazer $35, Forever 21 Scarf $6.80, American Eagle Skinnies $20, White T-Shirt $5, Barefoot Boots $40, 1773 Fedora $7

Day 221.

My favorite day from the trip! On Saturday we finally spent some time in Central Park, and I'll tell you what some time is just not enough! I could spend days walking through this park, it's so strange how it's right in the middle of the city, but it is still so peaceful, you can't hear all the hustle and bustle! This was a beautiful view, overlooking the park with the city in the background, this rock seemed like the perfect place to sit and eat lunch and catch up on some reading!

On a side note, involving clothing, I've become somewhat intrigued by the Japanese retailer Uniqlo. They've been around for years, with only one small one in the city, but they just opened two MASSIVE flagship stores while we were visiting. I like it, because they sell really basic clothing items, for a reasonable price, but of some of the highest qualities. Hello cashmere sweater only $49! Even though everything is so plain, they're not emphasizing conformity, they still want their shoppers to be unique and have style, just by mixing around their goods! The black long sleeve tee I'm wearing is from there, and it has special technology to keep me warm, which is amazing, because it is so soft and lightweight!

Day 221.
Kirra Tribal Dress $10, Black Poppy Anorak $17, Uniqlo Long Sleeve $10, H&M Yellow Tights $5, nicole Boots $12, H&M Owl Pendant $3.80, Black Purse $7

Day 220.

If you haven't noticed yet, I was playing around with layering while on the East Coast. I found this sweater at H&M for only ten dollars! It was on a grand opening promotion, but it is normally only seventeen, which definitely still isn't bad! And it's probably the softest piece of clothing I own now. I thought it was perfect with the lighter blue oxford, and I chose the more greenish pants, because I thought with jeans it would just be too much blue. I like how all the colors came together with this look, adding the red hat, but polishing the whole look off with black boots! On Friday I got to see my parents for a while, because they drove into the city to go on a tour of the Fashion Institute of Technology with me and take me out to lunch! After we parted ways my boyfriend Andrew and I did a little shopping! :D

Day 220.
H&M Sweater $10, Forever 21 Oxford $16.80, Banana Republic Pants $18, nicole Boots $12, 1773 Fedora $7, Braciana Handbag $15, Marc by Marc Jacobs Necklace $0; Gift

Day 219.

My first full day in New York I wanted to wear more comfortable shoes, because I knew we would be walking.. A LOT! And oh boy did we, we walked from China Town all the way to Central Park not counting all the zig zagging in between; guess what, my feet still hurt! I also chose a smaller purse on Thursday, because I didn't want to carry something heavy around on my shoulder all day.

After being in the city for about three seconds, I was already completely intrigued by the fashion! Everyone, men and women of all ages, have such unique personal style. I could just stand on the sidewalk and watch people walk by all day, and never get bored. I truly understand more than ever why Bill Cunningham and Scott Schuman do what they do, because style in New York is so creative, and beautiful and unique and inspiring! Oh and if you haven't seen the documentary 'Bill Cunningham New York,' watch it!

Day 219.
Black Poppy Anorak $17, Banana Republic Nautical Striped Tee $24, Old Navy Black Skinnies $11, Forever 21 Yellow Scarf $6.80, Black Purse $7, Navy Converse All Stars $35

Day 218.

Hello, New York! I look a little rough, but this picture didn't get taken until about seven at night, and I got up at 4:30 that morning! This is what I wore on the plane, except for the jacket. I wanted to be in something comfy and cozy, since it was early in the morning as well as a five and a half hour flight. I wore the hat, because I didn't want to smash it in my carry on. A trend you've probably been seeing a lot, is socks peeking out of the tops of boots. I was so excited to have the opportunity to wear this, because I love, love, love the look for fall! But it is way too warm to do that out here, so it was perfect for this rainy, cold day in New York City.

Day 218.
Banana Republic Sweater $35, Forever 21 Peacoat $32, American Eagle Skinnies $20, Barefoot Boots $40, Knee High Socks two pack $6, Braciana Handbag $15, 1773 Fedora $7

I found this purse on clearance at Marshal's for only fifteen dollars! That is an absolute steal, it was perfect for traveling, because it is big enough to hold my journal, kindle as well as snacks and other essentials!

Day 217.

Last post for a few days, I'm going to New York City early tomorrow morning and won't be back in sunny California until Sunday. I don't have a laptop so I won't really be able to update while I'm gone, though I'm sure I'll be tweeting about my adventures!
I wanted to wear these boyfriend jeans one more time before I left, because they didn't make the cut to fit in my carry on. I like the relaxed feeling between the denim and the slouchy boots, I think they go really well together. This shirt/dress you've seen on Day 181. Today I tucked in completely to be a shirt, and the overall look gave off sort of a western vibe.

Day 217.
Jimmy'z Shirt $25, Express Boyfriend Jeans $12, Barefoot Boots $40, Betsey Johnson Belt $13

Day 216.

I'm going to New York on Wednesday for a very long weekend, so getting dressed this morning, I couldn't lean on my favorite pieces, because they need to be clean to pack. It's funny how when you tell yourself you can't wear certain things, you become more creative with pieces you don't wear as often. Went for a monochromatic look today. These gray jeans seem to look best with either all black or bright white, so black it is. Way out of the norm for me was wearing the tank top I layered underneath. I haven't worn this in about two years, because it is a one shoulder tank with ruffles, and I don't do well with items without straps. I'm sort of glad it didn't sell on eBay, because I like the slightly asymmetrical look you can see under the cardigan.

Day 216.
Express Leopard Cardigan $25, Old Navy Tank $9, American Eagle Gray Skinnies $30, nicole Knee High Boots $12

Day 215.

As previously mentioned this weekend was dedicated to being healthy, so this is the outfit I put on later in the evening, to be comfortable doing homework and cooking dinner. Today we went on a seven mile hike during which I wore more unmatching and very untrendy work out gear! I kept those clothes on most of the day, cleaning and doing laundry, but if I didn't hike today, this is probably the outfit I would have worn for the entire day. I decided I love these boyfriend jeans more and more and more and more every time I put them on. They're so comfortable, perfect for running around on the weekends!
Note how bright my nail polish looks here, can I just say I love this blue!
Day 215.
Forever 21 Striped Top $8.99, Express Boyfriend Jeans $12, Rainbow Flip Flops $10; This whole outfit was a steal!!

Day 214.

It's about time, but this weekend my sister Elise, her best friend Cass and I dedicated all our free time to fitness! We're usually so busy we don't have a lot of time to get out and exercise, and sometimes I just feel so guilty when a whole week or two goes by and I don't get anywhere near the ocean. I mean it's right there! I need to take advantage of it!!
This outfit is obviously not very glamorous, but it's definitely serving it's purpose. I really love to work out in loose fitting racerback tank tops, they're so light, you don't have sweaty clothes clinging to your body, so you remain entirely comfortable!!

Check out that view :D
Day 214.
Old Navy Love Shines Tank $9, Old Navy Boyfriend Cardigan $12, Express Yoga Pants $26, Life is Good Hat $0; Gift to Andrew, that I borrow, because the neutral color! Asics Tennis Shoes $35, Espirit Shades $8

Day 213.

It was scorching how yesterday so my sister and I attempted to have lunch down by the water, but the sun gave us a run for our money and we only lasted about fifteen minutes. Even for that short time it's so nice to lay barefoot in the grass and look out at the ocean!
This outfit gives off a slight western vibe from the mix of boots and embroidery. I like to wear this shirt when I can wear heels, because since it's so long it cuts off a lot of leg, making me look shorter. It was really sunny, so I got a little washed out, but you can see this shirt better on Day 63.

Below is a close-up of the bracelets, I think they help make the outfit a little more fashionista, than cowgirl, but I feel like I could have definitely used more, and some on the other arm as well.
Day 213.
H&M Embroidered Tank $26, American Eagle Skinny Jean $20, Barefoot Boots $40, H&M Bangle $6, SO Bangles Set $8

Day 212.

Can I just say I love how these photos came out today (hence why there's so many)! Great job Elise, even though you probably weren't even trying ;)! They just have a sort of feel I really can't explain, they give off kind of a summertime vibe, maybe a little 90s, and grunge, and tribal..maybe! I told you I can't explain it! Either way, I really like this outfit, I envisioned the whole thing laying in bed last night, and it was one of those perfect mornings where you just put all the pieces together without stopping to see what they look like, and voila! Everything falls into place perfectly. The only thing I added at the last minute were the two wishbone necklaces. I chose to wear them together, because the military inspired jacket made me think of them as dog tags.

Day 212.
Kirra Tribal Dress $10, Black Poppy Anorak $17, Black Tights $4, MIA Combat Boots $35, Marc by Marc Jacobs Necklace one $14, one $0;Gift
