Day 257.

Once again enjoying the beautiful weather, and taking a more summer look into fall. This look is potentially very summertime, without the scarf and maybe sandals instead of flats; especially because the nautical sweater. I saw a girl at work wearing her scarf hanging backwards over her shoulders and thought that was very cute. You still have the draping in the front, so it's part of the outfit, but this way the scarf isn't overemphasizing, and taking over the entire look! And of course to make the look less dull I had to wear the leopard print flats instead of plain brown!

Day 256.

Costcoing it up on Sunday with Andrew! It was nice to get to spend some time during the day together, and it was also nice to take advantage of getting to dress this casually! It seems that I have a weekly tendency to become focused on another scarf; well I'm loving this one, the colors are great and even though it's a lot of different colors they seem pretty subdued. The converse and the scarf just seemed right together, and gave the look a very 'beach girl ready for fall' vibe!

Day 256.
Forever 21 Striped Sweater $8.99, Forever 21 Denim Shorts $12, Navy Converse All Stars $35, Target Floral Scarf $3.50

Day 255.

A subtle mix of patterns in a soft color palette was perfect for a nice, warm day! The weather has been oddly wonderful these past few days, and you can't help but take advantage of them; even in the middle of winter, I couldn't help be a little inspired for Spring.

Day 255.
Black Poppy Anorak $17, Banana Republic Bird Blouse $30, Banana Republic $45, Target Floral Scarf $3.50, Express Silver Ballet Flats $12

Day 254.

As soon as I bought these tights I knew at some point they needed to be paired with this dress, they matched perfectly! Though they looked great together, but seeing the entire dress with the orange tights was a little overwhelming, so part had to be covered up. That brings us to the black top and denim jacket. I really like this outfit, because its fun with a little edge, but it is still reserved enough to wear regularly.

Day 253.

Black Friday called for dressing all black, and at first I thought I'll just wear my blazer like usual with denim and my boots. But then I thought, no, I want to try something different, I have so many black clothes I'm sure I can think of something. This top is a little hard to work with, because the huge flower on the shoulder, I didn't want to wear it by itself, but I also didn't want to cover it up, because it's the best part of the shirt. I remembered I had this light, flyaway cardigan, that sometimes falls towards the edges of my shoulders anyways. This cardigan is perfect when you don't want to cover up too much of you shirt underneath, because it hangs pretty far open, but you still have the warmth of having sleeves! Hope everyone found some good deals, I resisted from buying anything! I'm very proud of my self control!! If you're still in the shopping spirit make sure you check out all the cyber Monday deals! Happy Shopping!

Day 252.

I got this chiffon, open front cardigan at Target for $4.50, and I thought the colors were perfect for Thanksgiving. I wanted to keep it pretty casual, because I was going to spend some time helping my sister out in the kitchen, but still look nice. We got lucky with how nice the weather was, so I could get away with such a lightweight top, which I paired with some skinnies and my favorite ankle booties, and of course some pendants; what more appropriate than a wishbone for Thanksgiving? Which reminds, we never got a hold of ours..?!

I look rather orange, this photoshoot took place during sunset.

Day 251.

Okay, let's talk about leggings for a minute. Leggings are kind of passing out of their glory day, about a year ago they were the go to item, but now being replaced by 100 different forms of jeggings, they are becoming strictly pushed into work out attire. Well, every once in a while, I don't like to wear pants, I want to be comfortable and relaxed, so I bust out my old pair of black leggings. When styled appropriately, they can be worked to look like pants, so then they're not too bad. We already know how much I love this huge sweater, even though I usually wear it with denim, sometimes it makes me look a little frumpy, when I put in on with leggings, extending into knee high boots I felt like it really helped slim me out. (hard to tell while seated) I chose a fun, patterned scarf to add some flare to the outfit, but kept it tightly wound around my neck, instead of having it hang directly over my bust, drawing more attention. Remember, the goal of this look was to look slender. Do you dare to try and rock your leggings again?

Day 250.

Sorry I'm so far behind, it was a crazy, busy week. Last Monday I definitely had a case of the Mondays, I was exhausted had to wake up super early to work on a project before work; I really need to do better with time management! By the time I went to the office I just wanted to be comfy cozy, and I hadn't worn this black cardigan in a while, so I was pining for it a little. I've been wearing this purple scarf a lot lately, but I realized in most of the pictures you can't really see the gold thread detailing, that what I love about it so much, because I feel like that little bit of sparkle makes the outfit just a little less scrubby!

Day 249.

Sunday was a basically perfect day. My mom and dad surprised us all and flew in for the weekend to a see a screening of my brother's movie, and all my family was together plus Andrew, so I was surrounded by my favorite people. It all happened in quite the whirlwind, so I worn something fun and whimsical. This patterned skirt is actually a dress, but sometimes the pattern is overwhelming, so I find it a lot cuter, when you can only see part of it as a skirt. It matched perfectly with the navy sweater and plum colored tights, so voila! I added the jacket one it got chilly!!

Day 248.

Saturday was about being comfortable bouncing from one place to the next. I wanted to be cozy sitting in the sewing lab for hours Saturday morning, but the minute class was over I had to be able to run over to make my shift at work, which was going to last and indefinite length of time. Comfort was my main priority. A blazer and flats is a perfect go to outfit, looks clean and sophisticated, and it's also very, very comfortable. I added the scarf to bring in some color, and of course it's my current essential for fall!

Day 247.

I actually wore this outfit last weekend, took the pictures, went to post the outfit, and the pictures looked BAD! I had to wait until yesterday to retake the pictures, Andrew was so thrilled to take them again ;D.
Obsessed with this new bird shirt, and yes it's from Banana Republic. They have a lot of great clothes, but sometimes you have to play around to make things look slightly more youthful. They have a private label, 'Heritage,' and most of their clothes are totally my personal style! Lots of earth tones, and chunky knits, and fun prints, like this bird shirt. This shirt is great, because it's versatile; it can be worn with a cardigan, alone; tucked or untucked, or with a blazer. Or even worn open as a layering piece if you wish. I like it a lot too, because it doesn't have a collar, which can sometimes get annoying, and if I wanted to wear a scarf the collar won't be there to get in the way!

Noisy image from last week!

Day 246.

I was feeling like a city girl yesterday, and I pictured myself walking down the bustling streets of New York City or maybe a stroll in Central Park. Aside from that, I've always been a huge fan of target, but since living in California our closest one is like 25 minutes away. Well low and behold, we just got one two exits away!! I spent some time moseying around Thursday evening, and boy was I shocked at some of their sales; I found some great little pieces to update my wardrobe.
This outfit you've seen in different varieties, multiple times, well all it took was a new hat and a pair of tights to make it completely different. The shocking news, the hat was only $4.50 and the tights only $1.50; amazed? I am. Blue and orange are complimentary colors and boy you can tell, they look so good paired with each other, especially this navy and rust orange I have here, you agree?

Day 246.
Heritage 1981 Sweater $11, Billabong Skirt $15, Old Navy Booties $22, Xhileration Hat $4.50, Xhileration Tights $1.50, Claire's Pearls I'm going to estimate about $5, I haven't worn these since I was like seventeen, and bought them even longer before that!

Day 245.

You've seen variations of this outfit a couple of times, and every time I pair this pale pink, girly dress with my leather jacket, I just think about Something Corporate's, 'Punk Rock Princess.' I call this look edgy ballerina, because I honestly feel like I'm wearing a tutu, especially today, since I didn't belt it around the waist as usual. I let it poof out in all it's glory. Leather boots of course, but I opted for the glittered tights this time to make it more fun, I can't resist some sparkle!

Day 244.

I bought this top on my trip to New York, and have been trying different ways to wear it, but hadn't found quite the right look until yesterday. This top is just loose enough that it works perfectly with the cinched waist of the skirt. Since the top is so busy with  all the letters and of course the flowers on the shoulders, I didn't find that any accessories were necessary, but I still like the little bit of mismatch the leopard print flats added. This is honestly the first thing I ever bought at Zara and I was amazed at what a great price the top was, only twenty five dollars. I like it because not only is it a little different, but it can also be slightly more dressed up like here, or worn casually with denim shorts.

Day 243.

Our apartment is getting fumigated this week so Tuesday morning I had to pick out all my clothes to get me through the next three days and move out of the apartment by eight am. Trying to pack light makes me really look at my clothes and decide what few things I can bring to make outfits, somehow this always makes me a little more creative. That brings us to this turtleneck that I basically NEVER wear, I don't think I've worn it at all since I started this blog and what a bummer, because I like it. And I ended up absolutely loving it with the leather jacket, it was just a fun, put together looking outfit, perfect for running around all day, which I did. I chose to add the leopard print flats, because A, I love adding the extra pop of something fun and B, those are the only shoes I packed other than my knee high boots! :D
Very interesting effects from the lighting..red hair?
Leopard print flats got cut off
