This outfit became one cohesive look with some subtleties inspired from traditional Japanese dressing. I knew I was wearing the shrug cardigan from the get-go, which stems from a kimono. And when it came to picking shoes, beachy sandals seemed to casual, and an ankle boot just wasn't quite cutting the cake. The platform sandal worked best and I think it's because of its influence from the traditional Geta, a Japanese wooden flip flop or sandal platformed on a block. All the pieces working together seemed to have a common root, it just took me some time to realize it!
