A Case for Linen // Part One.
Over the past few years I’ve talked about various fashion faux pas of the past and their irrelevance and demise throughout the decade. Though I appreciate trends over time and styles and their origins throughout the 20th Century, I’m so happy to be living through such an amazing time in fashion, where really anything goes. I feel my generation and the generations after me have made such waves in personal style and breaking down barriers of ‘style rules’ that are from the past. Today I’m making a case for wearing linen all year round. Of course linen is fantastic in the Summer, due to it’s lightweight nature and extreme breathability, but who’s to say it should be limited to only Memorial Day picnics and days at the races?! I’m loving linen all the time, and am trying to find as many ways as possible to incorporate it into my Fall wardrobe this year. Most linen pieces are usually versatile in nature and their breathability makes them excellent for layering in cooler months. I’m kicking off my ode to linen with the look I wore to work today featuring this vintage top I scooped up in my most recent Goodwill haul. This top is such a beautiful color in general but how fabulous is it’s richness for Fall dressing, love a good jewel tone. It was the perfect weight for layering under an extra cozy eyelash sweater from Anthropologie, and the thinness of the fabric makes it fantastic for tucking easily into mom jeans for a seamless look and no extra bumps in your jeans. Because I’m such a fan of this particular linen layer I rounded up a bunch of fab linen tops down below that’ll be great for Fall dressing, layering and any occasion day or night!
