Hi there! I'm Kirby!

Welcome to my blog! This is a daily dose of fashionable things from my personal style and good eats to beauty products and things to do!

Outfit Repeater.

Outfit Repeater.

Today’s post is a little bit different; I usually spend a lot of time shooting my OOTD around town to gather wonderfully curated shots to share with ya’ll..not the case here. And, what makes this post even more unique is, well… you’ve seen this outfit before. You may remember it from this post here, from a little over a year ago. In the history of Fashion by Day, I’ve never published a duplicate outfit and I just wanted to take some time today to talk about outfit repetition and the beauty of it. Yes, that’s right, I said beauty.

I’m not sure when in our culture it became a faux pas to be an outfit repeater. Maybe we can thank Kate from Lizzie McGuire for subconsciously putting it into our adolescent selves. Or maybe we can credit it to social media and the need to document everything - with that everything being limited to, only the constantly new and exciting. Whatever the shallow reason may be, we should be excited to repeat our looks. After all the time, money and energy we spend curating the perfect outfit recipe, why wouldn’t we want to show off our style again and again? In a world where the mentality is, if I didn’t photograph it didn’t happen, then of course it was easy for us all to fall down a slippery slope of, the outfit has been photographed (or seen) I can’t wear it again. But au contraire my friends no one is paying that close of attention - ya’ll wouldn’t have thought twice if I posted this look like any other outfit, it would have never crossed your minds that I wore it in December of 2017. So, wear the outfits you love the most, over and over again, you love them, who cares what anyone else thinks? You chose those pieces because they mean something to you, they make you feel great and I’m going to guess they’re comfortable. So in the words of Selena Gomez, ‘keep it in re-pe-pe-peat!’ This Field of Flowers jacket I’m wearing from Anthropologie is a style they remake every year in different prints, and I linked up this year’s super cute version that’s great for the Spring transition.

Would love to see all your favorite repeat outfits, tag me on Instagram @kirby.wolf so I can see what makes you feel amazing over and over again!
