Hi there! I'm Kirby!

Welcome to my blog! This is a daily dose of fashionable things from my personal style and good eats to beauty products and things to do!

Life Dump.

Life Dump.

Let’s see where to begin.. we moved! You remember that little cabin in the mountains we moved into in 2020 and were slowly updating and making feel like home? Yeah, the one from my recent nursery tour. Well, we sold that little spot with the mountain view and moved to Atlanta.

We’ve been living in Atlanta since the beginning of March; relocating down here was a great opportunity for us to move to a larger city to have more things to do as a family, while I could maintain my job of working for Asheville based East Fork Pottery. If you’ve been following along on our journey for a while now, you know we love to embrace change and try new things and Atlanta’s always held a special place in our heart so we figured why not?!

That said, I started writing this post almost a month ago, and even since then we’ve moved once again. Still in Atlanta, but a couple miles away, as the quirky little bungalow you see snapshotted below was infested with cockroaches. Yes, you read that right, vomit, cockroaches. Welcome to the South I guess?!

We lived in the home above for about three months, battling a bug infestation from like the second week on. Yes cockroaches are a part of life in Georgia and the South, when the weather gets warm you may come across one now and then, and while our landlord of three months tried to tell us otherwise, seeing multiple throughout your home in a day is not normal. After excessive visits with pest control, morning walk throughs to check for bugs and excessive vacuuming to make sure the baby would be okay on the floor, it was time to call it quits and pack up and move again. It honestly took such a toll on our mental health, ridden with more anxiety, spiraling into thoughts on how deep did this go, do we need to start getting rid of our belongings? Rowan was our beacon of joy, and seeing how much more he was already getting to experience here in Atlanta was basically the only thing keeping us from totally throwing in the towel and moving back to North Carolina.

All that to say, we’re feeling much more settled now. We’ve been living in our new space for a few weeks, we took a much needed vacation to the beach and got to swim in the ocean with Rowan for the first time. And now that we’re actually officially unpacked for the first time since March we can’t wait to dive even deeper into our new city. Rowan is growing and changing so much every day now and watching him experience literally everything is so incredible. He loves being out and about and people watching, trying all kinds of food now and spending afternoons hanging in the park.

Can not wait to share more about our adventures in our new city and how life continues to evolve with Rowan being the center of our world. And if you live in or are familiar with Atlanta, tell me your favorite spots in the comments below!!
