The Bomb Jacket.

I love adding a sporty twist to a casual look and am pleased to add this Free People mixed print bomber jacket to my sportswear collection. The real excitement comes from the fact that I found it 70% off at local Dana Point boutique, Rococo. It'll be a great layering addition for summertime, and will help give my denim jacket a little vacation. Happy Earth Day y'all.

Sunday Best.

Happy Easter everyone! Per tradition today's look called for florals and of course an Easter 'bonnet.' And what better than this beautiful vintage inspired maxi by Los Angeles based label Flynn Skye. Not only is the print fabulous, I love the button front and cut-out back, these small subtleties are what make Flynn Skye's pieces so unique.

Dress Refresh.

Some days I go into my closet and just can't shake the feeling that everything looks the same, and I am bored. For me it's not realistic to keep up on all of the latest fashions and trends, so I have to refresh older styles to make them seem new to me and more current in fashion. Maxi dresses are a great way to create multiple outfits, because they automatically double as a skirt with little effort. The key to layering with a maxi is to have at least one structured piece over top to give you some shape. You don't want the layers to just keep piling on so you look frumpy. The belted vest definitely helped, because I was able to emphasize my waist while still wearing multiple layers.  I was amazed at how many compliments I got on this 'skirt' because it's over a year old an I've worn it dozens of times, but with a little love it seemed brand new!

Easy Breezy.

I like starting the week off in an easy breezy, casual outfit. Something simple and classic that can help act as a blank slate for the upcoming week's fashions. I find the less time I spend deliberating an outfit the more I tend to like it looking back. Sometimes it's nice to not think about what you're going to wear and throw on a basic, versatile shirt you know works and be done with it. I love this mixed fabric white button down I just picked up from Ann Taylor, it's knit with a starched, chiffon color, and back yoke, easily to be dressed up or down.
