Dresses Over Pants Take Two.

As I'm in between seasons and still trying to get the most out of my Spring Summer wardrobe because I haven't quite built my Fall wardrobe yet, I'm trying to mix and match and restyle some of my favorite older pieces. To remix this olive maxi dress, I styled it over a raw hem skinny jean and paired with some snakeskin mules. This maxi is great for layering over pants because the slit is so high your legs are very visible without much movement. Don't be afraid to layer up your short and long summer dresses alike and share them on Instagram, tag me, @kirbymorris - I'd love to see your take on the trend!

Miss Sixty.

Instantly fell in love with this vintage inspired sweater from She In. The combination of the turtleneck and funky, oversized sleeves with the perfect mustard color made it a must have for my Fall wardrobe. I went for a retro, 60s inspired vibe by pairing it with these funky print Cabi trousers and of course a modern loafer. Hope you all have a great weekend, let's cross our fingers for some cooler temps in the upcoming week!

Tips for Transitioning.

The Fall transition is always, well, a transition. You're in between seasons and if your climate is anything like that of ours here in Los Angeles, then even though it's officially Fall,  the weather forecasts predict temps in the triple digits for the upcoming weekend. Yikes! If you're like me, you're so ready for all your favorite Fall fashions but are having trouble staying cool wearing them. A couple tips for looking Fall while staying cool.

1. Add an extra layer - even if you're still rocking summer styles like this lightweight little black dress I'm wearing, add an additional and equally cool layer - maybe something sheer or something sleeveless.

2. Swap your footwear - aside from coats and sweaters, shoes are a major component of a Fall wardrobe and even though it may be too hot for cashmere and shearling you can still don a great t-shirt and jeans and stay cool while wearing some killer ankle boots. This season along with my favorite boots I am loving loafers and slippers for basically every occasion (also a great option if you're on your feet all day).

3. Rock Fall colors - finally, even if you're not wearing the heaviest of Fall clothing work your wardrobe to more Fall hues, rich jewel tones, cool neutrals and luxe monochromatic looks, take a break from your extra bold neons and Summer hues and even if you can't see them you'll feel like the leaves are changing!

Bold Bells.

You'll be seeing a lot of oversized hemlines this season, from extravagant bell sleeve tops to cropped flare denim. I am so in love with this Free People top, it's so simple yet the silhouette gives it a seasonal update and the deep blush color is so perfect for a bold, Fall color palette.
