Hi there! I'm Kirby!

Welcome to my blog! This is a daily dose of fashionable things from my personal style and good eats to beauty products and things to do!

Nursery Tour.

Nursery Tour.

Better late than never, eh? Honestly I’ve been wanting to share a look inside Rowan’s nursery since before his arrival, but avoided it because it doesn’t have the best natural light, and I continued to be unhappy with the photos. But I’ve finally given in, as I think this sweet room in our home is too cute not to share, and while we didn’t really do much in terms of renovations for this space, I do love the way this simple, gender neutral nursery turned out.

This entire space was built off this beautiful Loloi Rugs x Rifle Paper Co. jungle menagerie area rug. I saw Ashley of Arrows and Bow use it in her daughter’s room in their last home and tracked it down immediately. The rug came first followed by some simple, sketched art for the walls and then everything else followed.

I would honestly say the only thing I would change about this space is, while I absolutely love this Urban Outfitters dresser (currently on sale), we immediately started beating it up and ruining it within baby’s first day home. Light whitewash really doesn’t leave a lot of room for hiding runaway pee, or stains from baby oil. Hindsight is 20/20 but when shopping for a dresser/changing table this is the one I liked absolutely the best, so probably would have ended up here anyways.

I ordered the simple, minimal bookshelves off of Etsy, you can order a variety of sizes, but they’re great for displaying a couple handfuls of your baby’s favorite books. And let’s be real, the maker, Rowe Station Woodworks was just too perfect for Rowan’s room. As he gets older I may add more lower down the wall for him to reach, and create a cozy reading nook.

Most of the art are one-offs I either found in thrift/antique stores around Asheville, or ordered off Etsy and eBay. I linked almost everything below, but reach out in the comments if you have additional questions on where things for this space were found! I’m sure as Rowan starts to use his room in different ways things will evolve, but for now, going to keep soaking up this soothing space for our little babe.
